Class Registration

Instructors: Assign up to four
instructors to the class, track teaching hours for actual
instructor.

Prerequisites: Unlimited setup for
prerequisites for a class, automatic tracking for student
eligibility. Include age restrictions for class registration.

Exams: Unlimited exam setup, track by
pass/fail, points, hours and customized rubric criteria. Use

* Flexible reporting with an included report writer and pre-set exports to third-party software such as Microsoft Word or Excel. RollCall
even includes a forms writer for creating graphical reports such as
invoices, statements, grade reports,
course catalogs, transcripts, registration reports and more. Any
report can be sent as a pdf file, and emailed to students. Activity
reporting prints 'packets' of reports for each student at
user-selected events, such as signing up as a new student, registering
for classes, signing up for tutoring sessions or receiving final
grades. Statements, Invoices and Activity reports are automatically
saved as an HTML file and emailed to students who select contact by
email.
RollCall delivers data access to key players in the educational
process by providing customized Views to Administrators, Students, Instructors,
Point of Sale and Appointment
Scheduling. Each View contains secured access to the data and update capability needed for each user-type. This is especially well suited to network
implementations and installations served over the Internet.
Software Built for Change
RollCall supports out-of-the-box customization for labels for
Students, Classes and Exams. Common alternatives are 'Members',
'Courses' and 'Assessments'. You can use different terms and
processing options between campus locations.
RollCall allows optional use of
many processing options - and hides
all the processing if not used. See the student window with maximum
and minimum processing options here. RollCall
includes a ReportWriter for creating customized reports and also
provides a flexible interface to Microsoft Word* and Excel for
customized form letters and spreadsheets.
PowerVista Bridge,
a comprehensive database application development environment, was used
to develop RollCall.
You can enhance RollCall to exactly meet your needs using PowerVista Bridge and the RollCall source code available (free) on the PowerVista web
site.
You do not have to be a professional programmer to use PowerVista Bridge. The visual development environment makes it easy to change window layout, validation and processing.
The RollCall development
Style has step-by-step instructions for making the most common window interface changes to RollCall. Examples are to add database fields, to add or remove fields from windows, or add new functionality. Any change you need to make to RollCall to exactly fit your business can be made quickly and reliably using PowerVista Bridge. If you don't have the resources to make changes, PowerVista staff can make any changes you need. The Enterprise Development Edition of RollCall even includes 10 hours of
programming from PowerVista - free.
Installation Options
RollCall Standard Edition is a standalone
single-user application. The database used is the
PowerVista database, which comes free with RollCall- Standard Edition.
RollCall Enterprise Edition is a networked
application for multi-user access and operates on any
ODBC compliant database such as Access, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle or
DB2. License and installation of the selected ODBC database is the
responsibility of the customer, PowerVista RollCall connects to the
installed database manager.
Use PowerVista
ApplicationServer
to deliver web access for your
Students/Instructors/Prospects/Affiliates, including a searchable
course catalog and on-line store. And, operate RollCall across the Internet.
This installation option supports an Application
Service Provider model of delivery or a single and a centralized data
repository with remote clients. A licensed and installed copy of RollCall
Enterprise Edition is required. Once PowerVista ApplicationServer is
installed, remote sites may access, update, print and view
RollCall information on the main server.
RollCall Standard Developer and RollCall
Enterprise Developer product bundles include the RollCall Style
Library (development
environment) and source code. Changes can be made by a single developer
to the RollCall source code and delivered without runtime, royalty or
license charges to end users. PowerVista developers are also available
on a contract basis to customize RollCall.
