RollCall is task-centered. It's designed to allow
you to quickly process recurring tasks such as class registration and
recording attendance. Many of the tasks are optional, depending upon
how the particular business is operated. For example, you don't need to
record exam results if Exams are not assigned to classes.
Each of
the Task windows organizes data to support the ways in which an item
can be entered. For Registration, Students are associated with Classes,
so you can Register all students for a particular class, or all classes
for a particular Student.
Task
windows limit the information shown to match the restriction criteria
set up for the item. So, for example, if a Class has an age
restriction, students with either blank or ineligible birthdays will
not be shown. For Attendance, only classes held on the day of the week
for the entered date will be shown.
For each of Task
window, entering the key criteria -registration date for Registration
or a check mark for attendance- adds the new record to the database. If
the value is blanked out, the record is deleted. Several of the task
windows allow adding additional information, such as whether to send an
invoice for registration fees (or record cash payment) when the record
is added to the database.
All
Task windows support a quick print of the list with focus using the
print button at the bottom of the list or the File->Print (or
preview or export) function. This is handy in the case of Attendance or
Registration 'events' where the computer may not be available. The data
can be recorded manually, and then entered later.

The Registration process is also used to setup
one-on-one sessions for coaching, private lessons or tutoring. When a
student is registered for a class (and the global option for Tutoring
is turned on), you can setup individual sessions for the student.
Track goals and results for each session and optionally invoice for
the instructor's time. The Student's and Instructor's schedule show
registered classes, as well as tutoring sessions.
